End of the Summer Paleo Challenge




Summer is nearly over.  I'm sure we all had a blast at the parties and BBQ's that were had over the long summer.  But it's time to get serious again and clean up diets.  We will be hosting our 2nd Crossfit Sandbox Paleo Challenge.  

If you have never heard of the Paleo Diet, don't worry. We will be hosting a mini seminar here at the box on Sunday, September 8th to talk about the diet.  We will cover everything, from all the benefits of following a Paleo diet to things you should eat and stay away from. Unlike most other diets, the Paleo Diet is a diet of inclusion. We aren’t here to restrict you from eating enough to feel full or taking harmful supplements that artificially bolster your system for temporary weight loss. Rather, the Paleo diet focuses on high quality all-natural foods that our bodies have been designed to fuel with since the days of our Paleolithic caveman ancestors.

So whether you have been thinking about it or have already been doing it in small doses, here is your chance to do it with some structure and a lot of motivation.

How it works:

On September 14th, we will take before pictures, take all your measurements (including measuring your body fat using a dunk tank), and put you through a baseline WOD. On September at 1:30pm we will have a Paleo nutrition seminar at the box to educate you about why you should be eating Paleo and how you can do it conveniently. We will break you into small paleo-watching groups and, over the next 6 weeks, we will check your WOD and diet logs, organize Paleo dinners, and do everything we can to keep you on track. On October 19th, we will re-test everything.

The best part about doing the challenge is that you’re not in it alone! You’ll have all your fellow challengers and CFSBX community to share recipes with, talk out of cravings, and have fun going Paleo with!

The top male and female will each win a free month membership and a cash prize, other prizes will be given out as well.  Winners are selected based on body fat lost, muscle gained, WOD performance improvement, adherence to paleo eating, and before/after pictures.

Sign Me Up!

The cost to officially participate in the challenge is $150. There is a sign-up sheet at the front desk where you can pick the time slot you would like to get dunked for your body fat testing on September 14th (bring your swimsuit and towel). We will be putting you through your benchmark WOD that same week and having the nutrition seminar on September 8th.
